IV Moscow International Festival "Traditions and Contemporaneity" – one of the most prominent annual events in the cultural life of the capital - will be held from 20 to 24 May 2010 at the International Exhibition Centre "Crocus Expo".

For the first time in the history the Festival "Traditions and Contemporaneity" will be held at a new venue. For "Crocus Expo" this event is also unique: conducting mainly industrial and economic exhibitions, the International Exhibition Center will become a platform for a cultural event for the first time

More than 100 best painters, sculptors, photographers, graphic artists, craftsmen and art galleries from around the world will present their works at the IV Moscow International Festival of Art.

The aim of the Festival "Traditions and Contemporaneity» is the support rendered to young talented artists, development and support of artistic projects, and, of course, the preservation of cultural heritage. Along with the works of renowned artists such as: M.  Abakumov, S.  Altayev, Z. Dumitrescu, Kukryniksy, T. Moraru, C. Paleologu, A. Plastov, T. Salakhov, Z. Tsereteli, Juran, I. Radoman, Mamontov Gallery, Maricevic Fine Art & Antiques, etc. young artists, such as T. Allen, A. Berezovskaya, E. Infelitsina, A. All, "Project Academy", O. Serezhina, etc.  will present their works.

Winners of the Festival will be defined in the following categories: painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, installation, arts and crafts, architecture and museum business.

 The International jury will be headed by Tair Salakhov, People’s Artist of the USSR, Russia, Azerbaijan, USSR and Azerbaijan State Prize Laureate, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Arts. Prominent figures in the art field will become the jurors: UNESCO expert George Petrescu, Director of The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts Irina Antonova, President of the International Academy of Architecture Yury Platonov, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Lithuania in Russia, People’s Artist of the Lithuanian SSR Budraitis Juozas, President of Russian dolls collectors club Pchelnikova Svetlana.

The Awarding Ceremony of the festival main award - bronze statuette "Belief" - will be held on May 26, 2010 at 18.00 in the Great Hall of the Central House of Writers. A charity event to benefit orphans and children with disabilities, dedicated to the Children’s Day will become an integral part of the ceremony.

The ceremony will be accompanied by well-known artists such as: “Academic – Band” orchestra (conductor Anatoly Kroll), People’s Artist of Russia Alexei Kuznetsov,  Russian and American pianist and composer Valery Grokhovsky, children’s theater "Ecole", the vocal group of the Moscow Cossack children corpus by the name of M. A. Sholokhov, Nicholo-Solbinsky nunnery chorus and many others.

Moscow International Festival "Traditions and Contemporaneity" reflects the social processes in the society, so several special projects will be organized in the framework of the IV Festival: The "Eternal Memory", dedicated to the 65-th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, "Window to Paris", dedicated to the Year of France in Russia and Russia in France, The “Dolls of the World” project which has already become traditional for the Festival and unites the best dolls from the collections of galleries, private collections, as well as leading Russian artists.

The main organizer of the festival is still the Moscow Social Foundation for Culture Support and Contemporary Art Development, headed by Kiseleva V.N.
