OPENING OF THE FESTIVAL:

On June, 26 in the Central House of Artist an official opening of the VII Moscow International Festival of arts "Traditions and Contemporaneity" took place. The exhibition takes place till June, 30 and by its results on July, 1 at ET CETERA theater there will be an official awarding ceremony – "Vera".

The festival is organized by the Moscow Social Foundation of culture support and contemporary art development managed by an honorary member of RAA Kiseleva Vera Nikolaevna. "The festival provides a rare opportunity for the artists not simply to participate in an exhibition of international level but also be assessed by competent jury and to get incentive for further growth and development", - emphasizes V. N. Kiseleva. The international jury of the Festival was headed by the Vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts, Winner of the State award of Russia in 2012 Salakhov Tahir Teymurovich.

Vera Kiseleva - Curator of the festival, President of the Moscow Social Foundation of culture support and contemporary art development, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts;

Tahir Salakhov - Chairman of the jury of the Festival, national artist of the USSR, Russia and Azerbaijan, Hero of socialist work, winner of State awards of the USSR and Azerbaijan, Vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts;

Vladimir Vasilyev - guest of the Festival, National actor of the USSR and Russia, professor of the Russian Academy of theater art;

The official openning ceremony was attended by Shvydkoi Mikhail Efimovich, Special representative of the Russian Federation on international cultural cooperation; Polad Bülbüloğlu, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Azerbaijan Republic in Russia, Representative of the commission on UNESCO affairs at the MFA of Russia; Oreshina Maria Alekseevna, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Israel in Russia; Dorit Golender, Chairman of the Board of trustees of the Moscow Social Foundation, Honorary member of the RAA; Leyvikov Mark Georgiyevich, Vice-president of the Union of industrialists and businessmen of the Chelyabinsk region; Andreas Tits, Director of the Museum Kunstguss Muzeoni Laukhammer; Slava Zaitsev, Soviet and Russian fashion artist; Vasilyev Vladimir Viktorovich, professor of the Russian academy of theater art; Naumov Vladimir Naumovich, film director, national actor of the USSR.


  

   

  

  

Official opening of the exhibition was visited by representatives of spiritual, political and business elite of the country, business community, embassies and cultural centers from more than 25 countries of the world.

The Festival represents works of more than 300 artists from Russia, the USA, Austria, Germany, Holland, India, Italy, Spain, China, Portugal, Romania, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Belarus.

Annually the Festival unites 8 directions in one cultural exhibition space: painting, graphics, sculpture, photo, installation, applied art, architecture and museum business. In these eight directions winners were presented with a professional award in the field of art – bronze figurine "Vera" representing belief in creativity, love and success.


  

  

  

  


The Festival widely and brightly presented works of Edward Pesov, official photographer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Chinese artist Itsay At, Belarusian artist Andrey Ostashov, Kazakhstan artist Armat Bektas, Romanian artist Adriana Badya, Swiss artist and a master of art doll Olga Rel, Ukrainian master of a linen thread Vladimir Denshchinkov, Italian sculptor Federico Severino, artist from Tanzania Giuseppe Tirelli, and also works of traditional participants of the festival – famous artists and cultural figures Zurab Tsereteli, Tahir Salakhov, Alexander Burganov and Vladimir Surovtsev.

Special place at the festival was taken by Tamara Nesterova exposition, one of works is an installation with a provocative name "Deadly Incense". The glass ashtray increased by 15 times with monitors and an electronic counter starting from the first second of the installation exhibiting thus reminds that in the world each 6 seconds one person dies of smoking. In the center of the installation there is a heart – a symbolical sign in memory of those who died and those who didn’t chose healthy lifestyle.

  

  

  

  


A separate exposition within the project of the festival devoted "To the year of Germany in Russia" will be works of sculptors Burkhard Tomann, Ferdinand Lepke, Ernst Ritshel, Dmitry Dykhovichny and other German artists.

From year to year the festival "Traditions and Contemporaneity" opens new names in the world of modern art and supports both beginning and professional gifted artists worldwide. Thus on June, 27 at 18.00 there is a presentation of an American painter Stass Shpanin "400 anniversary of the Romanovs House: imperial Russia through the eyes of modern American artist". The young artist who at 12 years old got in the Guinness Book of Records as "the youngest professional artist of the planet" in honor of the memorial Romanovs House will tell about hostages of his times - Nikolay II, George V and Wilhelm II, visual paradoxes of pre-revolutionary Russia and historic parallels which he shows in his works.

Annually the organizers of the festival support young talents with limited physical opportunities. This year "Blagoe Delo" project will be presented by young artists with unlimited talent Eset Chamayeva and Evgenia Shirkina.

The festival goes under the auspices of UNESCO and is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Head Department on diplomatic corps servicing at the MFA of Russia and the Russian Academy of Arts.
